Last December, he finally opened up about his private battle with cancer. However, Val Kilmer is facing fresh fears for his health after sensational and worrying U.S reports today alleging that the star’s throat cancer may have now spread to his brain. “Val’s in dire straits,” a source told the National Enquirer.

“His friends are saying that he may now be suffering from brain cancer.”

No further evidence is given to back up the disturbing claim.

Confusion has surrounded the state of the actor’s health since he denied Michael Douglas’s claim that he had cancer in a November 2016 Facebook post.

Later, while taking questions from fans on Reddit, Kilmer elaborated on his denial. “(Douglas) was probably trying to help me ’cause press probably asked where I was these days and I did have a healing of cancer, but my tongue is still swollen altho (sic) healing all the time,” he wrote. “Because I don’t sound my normal self yet people think I may still be under the weather.”

However the Batman star finally shed some light onto his mystery illness last December during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

While the star admitted he had been suffering from cancer, he credited his Christian Scientist faith in helping with his recovery, whilst also undergoing chemotherapy.

The 58 year old star underwent a tracheostomy that left him with a worryingly raspy voice and shortness of breath as part of his treatment.

However, the National Enquirer claims the star may have waited too long to get treatment and the cancer may have spread to the star’s lymph nodes.

“Val can’t speak clearly and his voice is little more than a croak,” the source told the publication.

“He’s lost a lot of weight because he won’t eat much.”

Kilmer has yet to respond to the Enquirer‘s claims.
