A UK coroner’s report declaring pop icon George Michael died a ‘natural’ death has effectively ‘covered up’ the truth about the true nature of his very sad passing, it has been claimed today in a sensational US report.
American magazine The National Enquirer says it has got a copy of George’s autopsy breakdown, which determined the beloved icon suffered from a dilated cardiomyopathy – a disease which affects the heart muscle and makes it grow thinner.
The condition is often linked to cocaine and amphetamine abuse, according to experts. George was well known as a heavy drugs user.
He also had myocarditis, a heart inflammation common in patients with compromised immune systems. The magazine controversially claims George was HIV positive – an allegation the late star never addressed publicly.
An unnamed source is quoted as saying by the magazine: ‘George’s immune system was shot because he was HIV positive for a very long time.
‘But it was cocaine and [other] drugs that brought him down and it was speed that caused his heart to explode.’
George also suffered from a fatty liver, a common result of alcohol abuse.
The star’s rep has not responded to the publication’s sensational claims.
