Barbra Streisand has undergone an extensive surgery overhaul in an attempt to save her crumbling marriage to heart-throb James Brolin, according to a sensational report published in the US today.
Globe magazine outrageously claims the desperate singing legend, 75, has blown over USD$360,000 on facial reconstruction and is now totally unrecognisable – except for her trademark nose. Featuring a cover image that the publication claims shows a bizarrely veiled Babs leaving a plastic surgeon’s, the sensational claims have all of Hollywood talking.
“Barbra is desperate to keep James at any cost,” a source tells the Globe. “If that means drastic plastic surgery to make her look years younger – so be it.”
Reports claim Babs and James, 76, had a “vicious and public blowout” at the posh Nobu in Malibu last spring. The couple were dining with Alec and Hilaria Baldwin when the explosion kicked off, and the Globe source says “it was just the latest in a series of marriage-shredding squabbles”.
However doctors say she’s gone way too far on fillers, botox and other repairs. “She’s pumped so much botox in her forehead, it looks like a cue ball, getting rid of every possible wrinkle at the price of making the eyes look like a pair of sleepy slits,” says New Jersey cosmetic surgeon Dr Lyle Back, who adds he believes she’s had eye lifts, teeth veneers, “a matronly” breast implant and her cheeks are overblown with filler. “She’s put so much in the cheeks that instead of getting the intended youthful shapeliness, the skin looks bloated and fat. It actually makes her look older.”
It remains to be seen if it goes anyway towards avoiding what will be a $550million divorce. Babs and James, who has been filming movies and his sitcom ‘Life in Pieces’, spent a staggering 256 days apart last year – nearly nine months. “It’s sad,” says Globe’s insider. “Babra knows they’re growing apart and this massive overhaul of her face is a desperate failed attempt by her to feel beautiful again.”
The star has yet to comment on Globe‘s report.
