Search warrants related to the death of Prince have revealed some shocking details about the secret life of the late icon.
The unsealed search warrants reveal the 57-year-old appeared to be in the midst of an opioid addiction after he was found alone and unresponsive in an elevator at his Paisley Park home on April 21. Autopsy results showed he died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl, a synthetic drug 50 times more powerful than heroin.
According to the documents, authorities found several prescription medications around the singer’s home, mainly kept in Ziploc bags envelopes and a suitcase.
Prince’s physician, Dr Michael Todd Schulenberg,had also prescribed him oxycodone under his bodyguard Kirk Johnson’s name, in order to protect his privacy – and it was further revealed that the Purple Rain singer also travelled under the name Peter Bravestrong.
Johnson reportedly told authorities who responded to the scene that Prince was dealing with opioid abuse and withdrawl. He also said that Prince had said he was ‘not feeling well’ hours before he died.
