Just two months after being hospitalised for a mental breakdown, Tori Spelling has stormed out on husband Dean McDermott and run to her mother for help, Star reports.
‘Candy [Spelling] has never liked Dean,’ a source told the publication. ‘And she’s the first one to say ‘I told you so’ to her daughter.’
The insider adds, ‘But Tori has five kids and nowhere else to turn.’
As recently as 2014, Tori admitted that there was ‘not much of a relationship’ nor ‘much communication’ between her and her mother, Candy, but the 45-year-old actress is suddenly feeling more amenable to burying the hatchet with her rich mother.
Once a big happy family, Tori’s relationship with her mother took a swerve following the death of her TV legend father, Aaron Spelling, in 2006. Candy was named as the executor of his $600 million estate, and he only left Tori and her brother, Randy, with $800,000 each – which the 90210 alum blew in record time.
According to Star, Candy has now decided to help Tori and Dean with their financial woes.
‘She’s been paying the couple’s monthly rent, buying groceries and paying for the children’s private school,’ a source says, but the insider adds that Candy refuses to pay her daughter’s $700,000 IRS bill and six figure credit card debt.
Tori’s mother has reportedly been ‘biting her tongue’ for years and watched idly as her daughter’s soap opera marriage played out. But the couple hit rock bottom in March when police were forced to intervene three times in just two weeks. On March 1, a neighbour called 911 because Tori was acting erratically and allegedly suffered a nervous breakdown.
Six days later, a frantic Dean called 911 again, pleading for a well-being check on his wife.
‘Candy felt she could no longer sit by and watch Tori unravel,’ a source spills to Star. ‘So she jumped into action and opened her doors. Candy is a shrewd woman, and is hoping Tori may finally be ready to walk out.’
