There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as Sir Tom Jones made his first public appearance since the death of his wife, Lady Melinda Rose Woodward.

Discussing his new autobiography Over the Top and Back at Hay Festival, a literary celebration in Wales, UK Tombroke down in tears when discussing the passing of his wife from cancer in April.

‘It’s very difficult, the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life,’ Tom told the audience in an emotional speech.
