It has reportedly been years since Hollywood mega-star Tom Cruise has seen his daughter, Suri. And now she’s increasingly asking painful questions about their relationship, according to a sensational report in US magazine OK! today.
The publication is claiming that Suri is desperately trying to reach out to her father, but it’s not looking good. ‘She’s at an age where she needs her father’s love,’ a friend of her mother’s, Katie Holmes, revealed to the publication.
‘Any child in her position would naturally begin to question why her father won’t see her.’
For some time after Katie’s split from Tom back in 2012, the actor kept in touch with his daughter via Facetime but now even that has fallen by the wayside, claims US OK. In fact, they say that he wasn’t around to celebrate her last four birthdays.
The insider says that Tom ‘can’t possibly know his daughter’ beyond the fact ‘she’s doing well in school and loves theatre and dance. And she must know even less about him.’
According to the publication, the biggest hurdle in their relationship is Tom’s involvement with the Church of Scientology. When Katie left the marriage, ‘she quit Scientology’ claims another source. ‘And she made sure Suri stayed out of its reach too.’
That would make Katie a ‘suppressive person’ according to the organisation, and therefore Suri could be a ‘potential trouble source,’ explains the publication.
‘I guess Tom would rather isolate himself from his flesh and blood than risk upsetting Scientology,’ claims an insider. ‘His church and his career are his priorities now.’
Of course, Suri just wants her dad. ‘All any little girl wants is to spend time with her dad,’ says a source. ‘Suri’s situation with Tom is truly heartbreaking.’
