To mark the release of their new single, The Only High, Aussie music stars The Veronicas have spoken out about how their lives have changed since giving up the booze.
Confessing to The Daily Telegraph that their high no longer comes from drinking, but from love, Jess and Lisa Origliasso spilled all about their happy relationships.
Love is really the only high,’ said Jess, 32.
‘It took us about 12 years of being drunk to realise love is a better high than anything else.’
Sharing that they’re both very happy in their current relationships and where they are in their lives – Jess is dating Aussie actress, Ruby Rose, whilst Lisa is engaged to long-term boyfriend Logan Huffma – the sisters said they drew on those feelings as inspiration for their latest hit.
In a recent selfie, Lisa captioned the post, ‘you’re the only high I need,’ suggesting the post was dedicated to her fiancé.
Meanwhile, Jess celebrated her seven-month anniversary with Ruby last week – which tragically coincided with the London terror attacks.
Sharing a post with her followers after the ordeal, Ruby revealed that she had traveled 12 hours and Jess 23 hours to meet in London for three days.
I flew 12 hours she flew 23 hours…she really loves me haha..You do anything for love. That’s when you know it’s real.
‘You feed it, that’s how you know it will grow, you are gentle with it so it doesn’t get hurt…and you live for it because without love what do we have?’ wrote Ruby.
‘Amazing 3 days that started with a horrible tragedy that we held each other tightly during and only cemented how vital making time in crazy schedules to see those you care for is more important than anything else..’
