It’s the bitter family feud that’s intriguing Australia – Sydney Swans skipper Kieren Jack banning his parents from his 200th game because of their dislike for his stunning model partner.
But New Idea can reveal there is far more to the story. According to well-placed insiders, the war erupted as a result of the star AFL player deciding that he would curb financial support for Garry and Donna Jack, with Kieren forking out thousands of dollars to help his parents over the years.
The shock revelation comes after Garry, a former NRL player, and his wife Donna accused Kieren’s girlfriend Charlotte Goodlet, a finalist in the 2013 Miss Universe Australia pageant, of stealing their son and making him choose between them and her.
But a source claims the couple’s public digs are a desperate attempt at masking the real reason the family have been torn apart for the past year.
‘Like most Australians, Garry and Donna are doing it tough,’ says the insider. ‘Garry played NRL back in the ’80s, but you didn’t get the big contracts like you do these days.
