“It just came out of nowhere,” the former Destiny’s Child singer recalled.
“I remember when they pulled the plug.”
“It was hard because I’d just watched my son come into this world and I actually watched her go.”
When Stefanovic asked about what last thing Rowland had said to her mother was, the 36-year-old couldn’t help but get emotional.
“Oh, that was really tough,” she said.
“That was… That’s a really tough question. It’s one of my greatest regrets. I actually… I have to carry that to my grave.”
Revealing that she was still grieving the sudden death two years on, Rowland admitted there is “not a day that goes by I don’t think of her.”
“At first, it would just tear me apart, and day by day, it gets easier.’
Describing how she has adjusted to life without her mum as the “new normal,” Rowland confessed to finding solace in her husband, Tim Witherspoon, and their son, Titan, 2.
“He’s a happy kid, and that makes me feel like I’m doing a good job,” she said.
“He just makes me feel life is worth living.”
