MAFS fans are rallying behind Alene and Simon after an emotional confession on Sunday night’s episode left the groom in tears.
The country boy broke down after opening up about his heartbreak following the recent loss of his father.
Just weeks ago, his new wife had visited his rural property as part of the home stay experiment, with viewers watching on as Simon became increasingly uncomfortable.
But last night the groom finally revealed to a confused Alene exactly why he was so on edge.
“Because of how things have been torn apart for the last year and a bit for me, it made it hard,” he explained.
“I felt reluctant to go and just walk into my folks place. So a lot of what Alene saw wasn’t the real me, in that place I’m supposed to call home.”
His candid confession pulled at the heartstrings of many viewers, who took to Twitter as the drama unfolded to express their support for the couple.
