Is it the end?

Just last month Channel 10 revealed they were putting filming “on hold” while Family Feud’s Grant Denyer recovered from his near-fatal rally car crash.

But according to new reports, the horrifying accident – which left the star bed-ridden and suffering multiple bone fractures – almost cost Denyer his hosting role on the show.

According to an Aussie tabloid, the network was “in a spin” at the prospect of the 39-year-old’s lengthy hospital stay, causing him to come “perilously close” to losing his job.

“Normally, we’d be shooting between 20 to 30 episodes a week, so there was a lot of scrambling,” the media personality explained to the publication.

“I think Daryl Somers was quickly on the phone to see if they needed anyone else to fill in.”

But with his wife Cheryl and their two daughters remaining vigil at his bed-side, Denyer made a speedy recovery and was able to return home much earlier than his doctors initially anticipated.

In fact, the star returned to the Family Feud set less than a month after lost control of his rally car and hit a tree at 160km/h during the Australian Tarmac Rally Championships in Victoria.

Previously, Denyer took to Instagram to praise Sailor, 5, and eighteen-month-old Scout for their unwavering support during the difficult time.

“I could not imagine better care than this,” he captioned the cute snap.

“These two are a gift straight from heaven and a bedside manner way better than the best private hospital.”

My angels of healing,” he added.
