Along with an iPad and laptop, Queen Elizabeth also uses an encrypted mobile phone that’s believed to be one of the most sophisticated in the world.

“It’s an ultra-slim model with a camera, small and light enough to fit in a pocket or handbag,” Royal author Brain Hoey told the Daily Mail.

“The royal mobile is kept fully charged at all times by Angela Kelly, the Queen’s personal assistant and senior dresser.”

While Hoey claims it was her eldest grandchildren, Peter Phillips and his sister Zara that taught Her Majesty all things tech, she most often uses the phone to chat to her daughter Princess Anne and horse racing manager, John Warren.

“Arguably the happiest phone call the Queen has received in recent years was on July 22, 2013, when Prince William rang his grandmother on her private line to tell her she had a great-grandson, Prince George,” Hoey recalled.

It’s been widely documented that the monarch has always been fond of the phone, with it previously being revealed that Queen spoke to her mother daily for more than 50 years.
