As the Queen battles the winter illness that has kept her bedridden for 22 days, new details of her ‘unbreakable bond’ with Duchess Kate have emerged.
Palace sources reveal the Duchess of Cambridge has ‘rarely’ left the Queen’s side and has been caring for her around the clock since news of the 90-year-old’s severe cold broke.
‘It’s no secret how close Kate and the Queen are – but this has shown just how strong their unbreakable bond is,’ a high-ranking palace source tells New Idea.
‘Since the Queen fell ill, Kate has been with her all day and sometimes into the night, vowing to not leave her side.
‘She has cared for her, nursed her through the worst of her illness – and the Queen has relied on Kate even more than her aides.
‘Whenever the Queen needs anything, Kate is there in a heartbeat.’
