Viewers of The Project took to Twitter to slam fill-in host Rove McManus.
The show’s usual hosts Waleed Aly and Carrie Bickmore were notably absent from the screen, leaving Rove and Joe Hildebrand to guest host.
They were joined by the regular panellists, including Peter Helliar and Gorgi Coghlan, but still failed to impress fans of the show.

Rove owns @theprojecttv, so he can go on whenever he wants, but the show is so much worse when he is on #theprojecttv

It is unclear why Carrie and Waleed didn’t host last night’s episode.
