The Briefcase couple’s shock guilt

Kevin and Honey admit they feel bad for not giving as much money as they received on the controversial show

When $100,000 landed on their doorstep, Victorians Kevin and Honey were given the option to keep, gift or split the large sum of money.

After decided to keep $75,000 and give fellow struggling family Mem and Troy just $25,000, the parents of two reveal they regret their decision.

‘I guess there is a bit of guilt there,’ Honey told TV WEEK.

New South Wales parents of four Mem and Troy chose to split their $100,000 evenly between the two couples.

Honey and Kevin – whose construction business went under when several clients didn’t pay their bills – admits they felt even worse when watching the first episode of controversial new show The Briefcase.

Quadruple amputee Mandy McCracken and her husband Rod gave their entire $100,000 to farmers Jim and Jenny Carter who also gave away their full $100,000.

‘That actually made me feel worse,’ Honey says.

‘The guilt really got me when I saw that. I said, “Wow, look at both those families, they’re amazing” but I also know financially we weren’t in a good place.’

The Briefcase airs Mondays at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.
