When close pal Rebecca Judd is announced as a special judge on the Ronald McDonald House makeover challenge on Wednesday night’s episode, Elyse keeps her relationship with the star very quiet.
And for good reason!
New Idea can reveal the Channel Nine personality is solely in charge of crowning one team the winners of the challenge and a $5000 prize, potentially giving Josh and Elyse a distinct advantage.
It doesn’t take much to work out that Elyse and Bec have known each other for years through the Melbourne social scene and mutual friends.
Pictured together at high-profile events, the pair regularly post images from their catch-ups to Instagram.
Last year – well before social media influencer Elyse was cast on The Block – she posted a selfie of the two ladies to Instagram with the caption: ‘Beautiful day at the polo with @becjudd.’
Yet on the show, both women fail to mention their pre-existing relationship.
‘Wow, I feel like I’m in a luxury hotel,’ Rebecca says when she sees Elyse and Josh’s room design.
‘The styling in this room in particular is on another level. ‘I actually designed those [pillows], so extra points for that.’
However, it’s no surprise Rebecca was a fan of Josh and Elyse’s work, given they’re front runners on this season.
In the challenge, teams are given six hours to transform a room for the charity.
Also, Josh and Elyse appear to be the only team who used the range Rebecca designed for Adairs.
‘It was a bit of a strategic plan,’ Elyse reveals after purchasing the linen.
