It’s claimed the intensely private couple are ‘100 per cent committed’ to announcing their love to the world at the Steve Irwin Gala Dinner in LA on May 13 – desperate to finally reveal their romance after months of clandestine dating.

Sources close to the couple say 52-year-old Terri and 53-year-old Russell are planning on walking the red carpet together at the star- studded charity event.

The Oscar-winning actor has been telling friends that he is delighted to attend the special gala as Terri’s guest of honour.

‘This has been a long time coming,’ says a friend.

‘They’ve been close friends for years and it’s finally come to this. They’ve been going back and forth about whether they will both be in the same country for the gala. But now they will!

‘They really love their privacy and have enjoyed the fact that they’ve been able to keep the early stages of their relationship to themselves. Terri had also been worried about the fallout of going public with another man after Steve, but those fears are behind them.’

After Steve’s tragic death from a stingray barb to the heart in 2006, aged 44, his widow Terri continued to post pictures of him to her social media accounts.

More recently, Russell has publicly commented on how Terri has ‘kept his love and ambition relevant’, going on
to tell her she’s ‘amazing’.

And now Terri agrees that the gala dinner is the perfect opportunity for them to go public. ‘She keeps calling it their “big day” – they’re both really excited. No more hiding, no more secret getaways – they’re both keen to be seen together,’ the friend says.
