Aaron Carter has been arrested on drink driving and drug charges, police say.
The 29-year-old’s vehicle was stopped on a highway in the US state of Georgia just hours before he was scheduled to perform in Missouri on Saturday.
He was charged with driving under the influence, and possession of less than 28 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed.
According to TMZ, the troubled singer refused to undergo a breathalyzer and drug test to determine whether he was driving under the influence.
He has since been released on bail with a $4,610 bond.
This comes just days after Carter was caught on video in his home town of Tampa, Florida, criticising Hollywood actor Shia LeBeouf’s recent run-in with the law.
In the clip obtained by TMZ, the I Want Candy singer insists: “You won’t catch me getting any DUIs… I don’t even drink.”
Following the news of his arrest, Nick Carter took to Twitter to reach out to his younger brother.
He added: “Family isn’t always easy, be (sic) we’re all here for you.”
