Fast forward to the present and after two years together, Lachlan is ready to pop the question to Miranda and get married.

“In my head, that’s what I want,” the Victoria lad tells New Idea.

“I can see myself marrying Miranda.”

The couple moved to Port Douglas last year when Lachlan was offered a position on the local football team.

However, Miranda isn’t sure that she can get past Lachlan’s over-protective nature.

“It’s nothing to do with not trusting her,” he claims.

“At the end of the day, I don’t want her to get hurt.”

Of course, if Lachlan wants to get the girl, he knows that he will have to change his ways.

“I knew there was an issue and I want to fix it, so if there’s an opportunity to better your relationship and yourself, then why not take it?”

That is why the couple have decided to put their relationship to the test on Seven’s new dating show, The Super Switch, which will see them swap their partners to help them confront their own problems.

And Lachlan has already set tongues wagging for his outrageous comments.

“I do have strong opinions,” he admits. “And, if I have a belief, I try to speak up and say how I am feeling.”

“I do have strong opinions,” he admits. “And, if I have a belief, I try to speak up and say how I am feeling.”

“Yeah, naturally I’m worried about what people will think. There are things I said that I probably wouldn’t normally say in a normal situation,” he admits.

But he admits that facing public opinion comes with appearing on a reality show.
