Starsky & Hutch icons David Soul and Paul Michael Glasser have shared a touching reunion as David’s health becomes increasingly fragile.
Now 73 and living in England, David, who played Hutch in the hit series, is suffering severe lung complications and is now wheelchair-bound. He is so ill that he had to cancel a scheduled reunion with his co-stars in America.
‘Due to my medical condition I have been advised by my lung specialist that I shouldn’t risk the 11-hour plus flight to Hollywood from London,’ he said in a statement.
But that didn’t stop his old mate Paul, 74, who played his partner Starsky, from making sure they caught up one last time – instead, he jetted to the UK. US magazine Globe has sensationally labelled the get-together a ‘deathbed reunion’.
‘Paul reached out to him and they decided to get together in England,’ a source tells Globe. ‘David is on his last legs. He’s overweight, very feeble and has numerous health problems now. He has terrible trouble breathing and can’t walk.’
The source adds that this ‘may be the last time they’ll ever get together so they wanted to make the most of this meeting – and say their goodbyes’.
