A bombshell report out of the US sensationally suggests George Michael was blackmailed to the point of suicide by dodgy characters he let into his life during his years battling depression and addiction issues.

According to American publication The National Enquirer, the Wham! star – who passed away on December 25 – was facing threats from unnamed greedy acquaintances

Adding to the sad picture of George’s last days, the report also quotes friends as slamming George’s partner Fadi Fawaz as a ‘fame whore’ who would party with George, and allegedly failed to stop some of his more destructive behaviour.

‘George was trapped, and backed into a corner,’ his friend Sham Ibrahim tells the Enquirer. ‘Fadi enabled him in every way possible.’

Sham says Fadi, who admitted to sleeping in his car the night George died at the age of 53, ‘was only interested in George for fame and money’.

Another source adds, ‘If Fadi was sleeping in the car, it suggests that George didn’t want him in the house’.

While the autopsy results are expected to take weeks, insiders say that in his final months, George’s drug use spiralled out of control and he ‘became obsessed with dying’.

Fadi has slammed reports he and George were estranged at the time of death, posting a string of Tweets expressing his dismay over George’s tragic death.
