Brad Pitt shocked the world last week with his horrifically gaunt figure and a new report in the US National Enquirer sensationally claims the actor is being ‘eaten alive’ by a rare disease.
The 53-year-old star is said to have lost a whopping 11.5kgs in a few short weeks and friends fear he’s waging a battle with a life-threatening illness after he began seeing a top infectious disease specialist in Beverly Hills late last year.
‘Brad still won’t say why he goes. He’s strangely desperate to prove he’s fine when he so obviously isn’t. He stops by every few days and each time he looks like he’s dropped another couple of pounds,’ an insider told the Enquirer. ‘He’s disappearing before our eyes. He moves around like an old man in pain too. He’s very weak and his hands shake.’
There’s no doubt Brad’s personal life has taken a huge toll on his health too, with the shock divorce from Angelina Jolie and the battle to see his own kids, Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox. The six-strong brood were said to be shocked when they saw their father for the first time following the split.
‘They were very confused when they saw him,’ says the Enquirer’s insider. ‘Vivi and Knox hung back for a while, just staring at him. It must have been bizarre for them to see a man resembling an older, smaller version of the father they grew up with!’
