With the explosive season four finale of Wentworth due to hit screens next week – Foxtel have finally announced they will begin filming another installment of the popular drama next month.
The pay-TV network revealed they will air a 12 episode fifth season next year.
With blockbuster ratings around the world, the re-imagining of cult 1980’s soap Prisoner isn’t ready to come to an end just yet.
‘Wentworth has gone from strength to strength over the past four seasons,’ Foxtel Head of Drama Penny Win said.
‘Not only is it an international television success story, now showing in 141 territories, it is a ratings blockbuster and fan favourite for Foxtel audiences. We are extremely proud of this long-running drama juggernaut.’
The Wentworth season four finale airs Tuesday, 8.30pm [AEST], SoHo
