Rapper Azealia Banks says she feels ‘stained’ after she alleges Russell Crowe physically attacked her after a boozy, flirtatious party in his hotel suite turned very ugly.
The performer, who is known for her feuds with other stars, says in a new interview that she and Crowe had been flirting, before banter got out of hand and she claims she was brutally attacked.
‘This is a stain on me. My femininity feels stained. I feel stained as a woman, I feel mishandled, I feel mistreated, I feel dirty,’ she told British newspaper The Sun.
She told the publication that things had started innocently enough before events spiralled out of control. ‘Russell and I get next to each other. He’s talking to me, I’m talking to him, and we start flirting. We’re having a really good time. He’s got his knee on my knee, he’s touching my leg…’
Azealia claims that after she criticised one of his friends, Crowe slammed her and things went from nasty to very ugly. In a now-deleted social media post, she wrote: ‘To recap my night, I went to a party at Russell Crowe’s suite, at which he called me a n****r, choked me, threw me out and spat at me.
‘The men in the room allowed it to happen. I feel terrible today.’
However Crowe has vehemently denied the ugly claims, with a number of witnesses at the party claiming things played out differently than the way Azealia alleges, with the rapper accused of being ‘the aggressor’, who initiated the racial sledging by allegedly calling Crowe a ‘boring white man’.
Witnesses told TMZ that Banks went wild after being challenged by another guest about her language, with the starlet allegedly saying,‘You would love it if I broke my glass, stabbed you guys in the throat, and blood would squirt everywhere like some real Tarantino s***.’
Police are now investigating.
