Shannon Noll ‘bashed and robbed’

A source claims the singer was king-hit by bouncers

It wasn’t Shannon Noll’s finest moment.

The singer was filmed being pinned to the ground in the early hours of Sunday morning after allegedly assaulting a security guard outside an Adelaide strip club.

But now, a source close to the 41-year-old has come to his defence claiming he was attacked and robbed of his money during an allegedly dodgy billing process at the Crazy Horse Revue.

Speaking with Daily Mail Australia, the source sensationally alleged: “The story is backwards. Shannon was king-hit and, as the footage shows, repeatedly kneed by security.”

“It’s amazing how there’s a big gap in the footage.”

The newspaper’s unnamed source claims that Shannon was pushed outside and brutally attacked by security guards after he requested to see a manager to dispute a $300 bill, which he claims should have been less than a third of that.  The club has yet to respond to the paper’s outrageous claims.

However, this version of events is in apparent contradiction to claims by witnesses who say Noll provoked the bouncers before being arrested by police officers.

“He was yelling and screaming and being really aggressive,” one witness told AAP. “He was saying, “I’m Shannon Noll. Let me back into the Crazy Horse.”

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Shannon’s promoter Duane McDonald admitted the incident was out of character for the Australian Idol runner-up.

“He’s a decent, hardworking family man,” he said. “I think there’s more to this story than what’s being seen.”

Shannon has been charged with two counts assault and will face the Adelaide Magistrates Court on February 24.

Despite keeping a low profile since his arrest, the singer will perform in Melbourne this weekend as part of his Red Hot Summer Tour with John Farnham, James Reyne and Taxi Ride.
