Actress Shannen Doherty has revealed her deepest fears after undergoing her first day of radiation therapy in her battle against breast cancer.
Posting an image of herself looking scared on Instagram, the former 90210 actress gave her fans a raw and honest account of her feelings, saying she is ‘fighting like a girl’.
‘First day of radiation treatment. I look like I’m about to make a run for it which is accurate,’ she wrote. ‘Radiation is frightening to me. Something about not being able to see the laser, see the treatment and having this machine moving around you just scares me. I’m sure I’ll get used to it but right now…. I hate it.’
Having shared her cancer journey with her fans since revealing her diagnosis in August last year, the 45-year-old is doing her best to remain optimistic about the future.
‘I am continuing to eat right, exercise and stay very positive about my life,’ she told People magazine. ‘I am thankful to my family, friends and doctors for their support and, of course, my fans who have stood by me.’
