Australian model Shanina Shaik has dropped a major bombshell – the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion show has been cancelled.
In May, it was revealed that the Victoria’s Secret fashion show had been dropped from the US network, and now it seems the fashion extravaganza can’t find a suitable home for 2019.
Model Robyn Lawley: “I hate Victoria’s Secret. Don’t buy their stuff”
Victoria’s Secret model Shanina, spoke with the Daily Telegraph to confirm the news that the lingerie show – which has been labelled both sexist and exclusive in recent years – has been canned.
“Unfortunately the Victoria’s Secret show won’t be happening this year”, Shanina told the Daily Telegraph.
“It’s something that I’m not used to because every year around this time I’m training like an angel.”
While the show not running this year spells doom for the cult fashion house, Shanina insists that not all is lost for the lingerie label: “I’m sure in the future something will happen, which I’m pretty sure about.
“I’m sure they’re trying to work on branding and new ways to do the show because it’s the best show in the world.”
The Victoria’s Secret fashion show has been an annual event since 1995, with supermodels like Heidi Klum, Gisele Bundchen, Tyra Banks, Adriana Lima and Miranda Kerr all walking the coveted runway.
Shaik first walked Vicotria’s Secret in 2011 and has featured in the show five times since.
