An unauthorised Shane Warne telemovie was said to follow the Australian cricketer’s journey both on and off the pitch, however a spokesperson from Channel 7 has confirmed it will not go ahead into production.
The Seven Network spokesperson told News Corp that the highly-anticipated drama has been cancelled ‘Seven has released this project.’
‘We have a number of projects in development and felt that, at this time, the Warne miniseries was not the right fit for our production and programming schedule,’ the network told the publication.
This announcement comes following reports that the miniseries was ‘put back on the shelf having not yet reached casting stage’ as ‘the time frame for the production had blown out’.
The 47-year-old stands as one of the greatest bowlers in the country. Warne officially retired from his beloved sport in July 2013.
