Shane Warne, Australia’s best-known cricketer and ladies man, has raised some eyebrows by declaring his very public support for a 21-year-old surfer and topless swimwear model who got booted off the British version of Love Island last week.

The 49-year-old, divorced father-of-three, who is said to be a huge fan of the dating show in which contestants must couple up with the opposite sex all while dressed in swimwear, took to Instagram overnight to congratulate controversial contestant Lucie Donlan on her exploits.
Under a picture of Lucie posing seductively in black, lace lingerie and a white bathrobe, Shane wrote: “You crushed it!”
Later that day, Lucie, who is a year younger than Shane’s eldest daughter Brooke, 22, posed with Piers Morgan who has often been outspoken about his distaste for Love Island.
Taking to Piers’ comments section, Warnie wrote: “Be nice to Lucie please! Hahahah.”
Lucie had been a popular contestant until fans turned on her when she confessed her feelings twice for co-star Tommy Fury, 20, who was happily coupled up with Molly-Mae Hague, 19.
Shane is currently in the UK where he is commentating on the ICC Cricket World Cup.
The sportsman recently lost an impressive 15kg by embarking on a “new health kick” by cutting out “dirty rotten pizzas”.
Last month, the lothario appeared on British breakfast show Good Morning Britain to promote his autobiography, No Spin, and to reveal he still holds a flame for his ex-fiancee, Elizabeth Hurley.
In the book, Shane said part of the reason for their split was Elizabeth’s very close friendship with her ex Hugh Grant.
“I got jumpy about the time Elizabeth still spent with Hugh Grant … He is her best friend but they saw each other more when I wasn’t around so, well, you know,” he wrote.
