‘I would love another sibling for my kids!’ mum-of-two Felicity reveals.
‘I would definitely be open to having two more kids.’
Despite being ready to expand her brood, the 25-year-old vividly recalls the trauma of her first two pregnancies, admitting they took a toll on her health.
‘My first pregnancy, I was in and out of hospital the whole time,’ says Felicity, who owns a Paleo snack business.
‘I had severe morning sickness the whole way through. I only put on seven-and-a-half kilos throughout my entire pregnancy because I was sick the whole time.
The severe morning sickness meant she couldn’t leave her bed.
‘I had just turned 22, I could barely walk and I was bedridden. It was really hard,’ she says.
Felicity had only known Michael for a few months before falling pregnant with their first child, Dakota.
‘Kids were the furthest thing from my mind. When I fell pregnant, I took three pregnancy tests and they all came back negative,’ Felicity explains.
‘I took the fourth test with Michael and it said I was pregnant. I just thought to myself: “Oh crap! What am I going to do? I’ve known this guy for three months. And now we’re going to be parents.”’
To Felicity’s surprise, Michael couldn’t wait to be a dad.
‘Michael was so happy about it. He wanted to start a family with me. I was hesitant, but as soon as I had Dakota, my life changed. It was the best thing that’s ever happened to me.’
It wasn’t long until another surprise came their way. Three months after Dakota’s birth, they were pregnant again!
With two young babies, the pair’s relationship fell to pieces.
‘Right from the start we had issues that we didn’t talk through. One was falling pregnant instantly and having no honeymoon period,’ Felicity explains.
‘A lot of people weren’t supportive of our relationship because we just met and fell pregnant – a lot of family members, more so on Michael’s side. That definitely stung us and tainted our relationship.’
Michael, 30, also failed to support his fiancee after Dakota was born.
‘Michael wasn’t really there as much as I wanted him to be. That was really hard for me,’ Felicity says.
‘It was never an easy relationship – we were fighting and it was always a stressful environment.’
