It’s been 12 years since Schapelle Corby was arrested for having 4.2kg of cannabis in her bag at Bali’s Denpasar airport, and now, with just six months left on her parole, the former beauty therapist has gone missing.
Despite being registered to live with her former brother-in-law Wayan Widyartha at his Kuta compound, her parole officers admit they have no idea where she is living, as locals report both Schapelle and Wayan haven’t been seen in the popular tourist town in months.
‘We don’t know for sure whether she is still living in Wayan’s house now,’ admits Bali parole officer Mrs Sari to New Idea. ‘We never receive any reports of her doing something that breaks the rules. But we don’t directly observe or monitor her 24 hours a day, it’s impossible.’
