Schapelle Corby is celebrating her first birthday as a free woman, and she couldn’t be happier about it!
The 40-year-old took to Instagram today to share the exciting milestone with fans and post a video of herself singing with glee.
“I’m in Queensland and it is sunny. I have the palm trees behind me,” she sang in the short solo, panning the camera from her face to the tropical oasis behind her.
She captioned the clip: “Mucking around on this sunny day 2017 ❤️”
Many of her 201,000 followers took the opportunity to send the Gold Coast-based beauty their well wishes.
“It’s lovely to see you so happy,” one wrote.
“This is what freedom sounds like!” penned another.
This is the first time the convicted drug smuggler has been able to share her special day with loved ones on Australian soil since her arrest in October 2004.
It’s reported that Schapelle is planning a quiet family dinner to mark the occasion, with some of her relatives seen arriving at the home of Rosleigh Rose in Loganlea over the weekend.
On Friday, older sister Mercedes treated fans to a sneak preview of the festivities.
