Sam Wood may have got his happily ever after on Network Ten’s reality dating show The Bachelor, but it wasn’t all smooth sailing.
The 36-year-old confesses the show took a real toll on him, calling the experience ‘the hardest thing I’ve ever done’.
During an interview with Jules Sebastian for Tea With Jules, the personal trainer opened up about the sacrifices he made in order to find true love with single mum Snezana Markoski.
‘It was filming for five or six days a week, 12 to 16 hours a day for 13 weeks on very little sleep,’ he explained. ‘Your routine, your freedom, your flexibility, everything that I love about my job was completely taken away from me. It was easily the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.’

As his feelings for Snezana, 35, grew, that also proved challenging for the Bachelor, who admits he felt obligated to keep an open mind when it came to the other women vying for his affection.
‘It got harder as it went along because I started to develop feelings for Snezana but I still had to be as respectful as I could to all the other girls,’ he says.
Sam proposed to Snez while on holiday with her daughter Eve in his native Tasmania in December, just three months after the show wrapped – celebrating their engagement with New Idea in an exclusive shoot.
