Gold Logie nominee and Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac is known for his devotion to his cat, but not even the most die-hard feline fan would make this move!
Walking the red carpet for the 2019 Logie awards, Sam Mac brought along his mum – and his cat!

Although bringing your cat as your plus one is an unorthodox option, Sam Mac seemed completely unfazed and revealed to New Idea the red carpet has been one of the more overwhelming he’s ever walked: “I am obviously over the moon to be nominated [for a Gold Logie].
“But number two, to have mum here and I had my rescue cat coco here on the red carpet [is amazing].”
New Idea’s newest columnist also revealed that he does indeed have a tattoo of his beloved furry friend.
“Yes I have a tattoo of my cat.
“It’s known as a ‘cat-too’.
“Mum doesn’t love it,” Sam continued, “But she loves coco and I softened the blow by inviting her to the Logies.”
Speaking with New Idea, Sam’s date was obviously bursting with pride: “I’m just so proud, so proud.
“I’m ecstatic.”
When asked how he would celebrate if he won the coveted Gold Logie, Sam confessed he had not even thought that far ahead, but it would definitely be with a party.
“I haven’t thought about it!
“Just with the team you know, mum gets pretty wild.
“There’s no lockout laws when my mums involved anywhere in Australia!”
Even more surprising is that Sam doesn’t even have an acceptance speech ready!
“No, you just got to go and have fun.”
