Radio presenter Sam Frost revealed she is undergoing surgery after ‘high risk cells’ were found during a routine pap smear.
Although the 28-year-old said that the procedure was preventative, she told listener on 2DayFM Hit 104.1’s Rove and Sam: ‘Go to the doctors and get a pap smear. I know so many of my friends that put them off. It’s a really common thing and easily treated.’
‘If you don’t catch it at this stage it can advance to scarier things.’
Going into detail with co-host Rove McManus, Sam explained what a pap smear is.
‘You get the regular STI ones, no dramas – but there’s a different one that you get to check if you’ve got cancerous cells, if there’s any abnormalities.’
‘And that’s the one that people assume is in the STI one, but it’s not. So it’s a completely different one. That’s the one that I went in to get done.’
She finished saying, ‘So, ladies, please call your GP, get it out of the way and just know that S Fro’s on your side.’
