Sunrise host Samantha Armytage is officially in the wars.
The 40-year-old took to Instagram earlier this week to share a snap of a nasty injury she sustained at a friend’s birthday in country NSW over the weekend.
In the pic, the popular TV personality could be seen holding a packet of frozen peas as she propped her bandaged ankle up on a pile of pillows.
“Love a woolshed party…….😂😂😂 #sprainedankle 🎉 (I’ve done a Billy Slater 😂)” she wrote in the caption.
Many of her followers were quick to send the star their well-wishes, with comments such as: “Heal quickly lovely,” and “Hope you recover soon.”
Others were more concerned with offering up their words of wisdom.
“PEAS be more careful,” one user pleaded.
“Woolshed parties are for work boots, not heels,” suggested another.
Putting on a brave face, Armytage returned to work the following day, but it later became clear her injury was still cause for concern.
With the help of her co-star David ‘Kochie’ Koch, the journalist hobbled across the Sunrise set on Tuesday during a live performance by guests Todd McKenney and Georgie Parker.
“She’s injured,” the 61-year-old explained to the pair.
“Don’t ask,” Armytage said. “I had a bit of a stack, but don’t worry about it.”
“It was worth it,” she added.
