TV favourite Samantha Armytage has issued a public apology after she was filmed travelling in a vehicle without a seatbelt during a segment with music superstar Ed Sheeran.
Talking to viewers this morning after a number of complaints from the public, Sam was happy to face up to her mistake, and warn others not to do the same.
‘You’ll remember I went to pick up the singing superstar from his hotel room live on air. During that segment, I neglected to wear a seatbelt,’ the Sunrise host admitted.
‘Many of you were quick to point out my mistake on Facebook and via email and phone.
‘I’m sorry. It was unintentional, I was caught up in the moment but that’s no excuse.’
Proving that celebrities are not exempt from the law, Sam clarified that ‘all involved’ had now been issued with fines.
‘The infringement notices will be paid. And a reminder, do as I say not as I did,’ said Sam. ‘Always wear your seatbelt, no matter what the vehicle.’
