Miley Cyrus and fiancé Liam Hemsworth are at war over the terms of their marriage prenup and sources say the wedding is now off!
According to US magazine In Touch, Miley, 24, is fighting to protect her US$160m fortune and 27-year-old Liam, who’s worth around US$16m, is “deeply offended”.
A source told In Touch, “The prenup is causing a huge rift between them. He’s successful in his own right and doesn’t feel they need to have him sign papers to stop him from going after her money. He feels the paperwork is extreme. The wedding is off for now.”
When Miley first approached Liam with the subject of a prenup this time around, friends say Liam “got furious” and they had a huge fight. Liam argued that “after years of dating, Miley should know by now that he’s with her for love and isn’t after her millions”, says the In Touch insider. When Miley suggested he could give one to her to sign too, the insider said “he completely snapped”.
“She thought he was going to end the relationship,” adds the publication’s source. Since then Miley’s put the wedding plans on hold until things cool down.
“Miley is doing everything she can to placate him, but it’s getting ridiculous,” adds the spy. “He’s obsessed with the prenup issue and has been using it to hurt her whenever they have the tiniest disagreement. She doesn’t really know what’s going to happen next.”
