Official court documents have been obtained on Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Gosling’s traumatising family life.
The documents uncovered by the Star reveal details about the La La Land star’s parent’s divorce.
Ryan has already previously hinted at his troubled family past to The Telegraph, saying: “I felt like I was going crazy as a kid.”
The now 36-year-old actor was officially diagnosed with attention-deficit disorder when his parents first split.
He was reportedly so deeply affected by the divorce that he set fire to their family’s Ontario home and regularly threw their pet cat in a dryer.
According to the newly emerged documents, Gosling’s father Thomas claimed his wife Donna was having an affair whilst still living with the family.
Despite this, he remained at the family home for a further three months until he was forced to leave after physically assaulting Donna.
Both were then later charged as Thomas also accused Donna of attacking him.
Donna further claimed that her ex-husband caused psychological harm, with “[Thomas’] position making life miserable for [her] and the children.”
The documents also revealed that Thomas felt that his son, Ryan (then 15) was obligated to repay him for the finances he provided to help further his acting career once he was old enough to access his trust fund money.
Thomas and Donna both separated in 1994 after 20 years of marriage and two children, including Ryan and his older sister, Mandi.
