Ronn Moss reveals: My bold comeback

B&B fans officially have a new reason to smile!

It’s been five years since Ronn Moss broke the hearts of his millions of The Bold And The Beautiful fans by announcing his shock exit from the show.

But now the soap heartthrob, who played Ridge Forrester for more than 25 years, is giving B&B addicts reason to smile again after announcing his big comeback – as a pop star!

In an exclusive interview with New Idea, Ronn, 65, opens up about his career change and his surprise move to Belgium with wife Devin, 54, to ‘live like gypsies’, after ditching his life in LA.

‘Not so long ago, my two daughters [from a previous marriage] left the house,’ Ronn explains. ‘This means we – Devin and myself – can stay away longer than we usually did. We can afford to live like gypsies now.

‘When I was at B&B, I travelled a lot for promotion to several countries all over the world. But what did I see then? Airports, hotel rooms, taxis and studios. It was always rushing from one place to another.

‘Whenever someone asked me about his or her country, I always had the same answer: “Seems to be a nice country, it’s a pity I didn’t see it.” ‘Now, I can combine my two passions – music and acting – at my pace, performing and taking time to visit places where we are. The rush is gone.’

Ronn is starting all over with Player, the pop band he had in the ’70s – best known for their hit single Baby Come Back. And when it comes to acting, Ronn has been producing, directing and acting in web series The Bay, which has won several Emmy Awards.

‘I’m a totally different character in that show,’ Ronn reveals. ‘Ridge was basically a decent human being, but John Blackwell, my character in The Bay, has more evil in his blood.’

But his move to Belgium has prompted a true comeback in his pop and acting careers, taking him to an all-new audience.

‘I’m now performing during July and August with Luc Caals, a very well-known comedian in Belgium. I’m singing evergreens and my own songs, and doing one sketch with him,’ Ronn says.

‘And then in September and October, I’m in a play with a few Belgian actresses who are known from the two most popular Belgian soaps. It’s a comedy, kind of parody on Real Housewives, and I play myself. These ladies fantasise about an actor and then that actor suddenly shows up.’

With his career resurgence taking Europe by storm, Ronn and Devin – along with their dog Prince – will set up home in their own place by the Belgian coast for four months.

‘Belgium is very central in Europe,’ says Ronn. ‘It takes one hour by train to go to Amsterdam, two hours to Paris or London, the same to the German border. The shows are at the weekend, [so] during the week we intend to make short trips to these – and more – places. ‘We like the Belgian people. They are very kind and relaxed, and they have fantastic food.’
