It’s been nearly seven months since Ricky Martin announced his engagement to long-time love Jwan Yosef.
Now, speaking with E! News, the 45-year-old has divulged intimate details about his upcoming nuptials.
“It’s going to be a big event. I want something massive.” he said, revealing that the ceremony “has to happen” in his native Puerto Rico.
“It’s where I’m from, where my family is from. He’s from Sweden and some relatives are from Syria so we’re going to do something international.”
The exciting news follows previous reports that the pair were putting their special day on hold due to the singer’s Las Vegas residency.
But the father-of-two has officially shut down the speculation, explaining that organising such a large ceremony is much harder than it looks.
“Everybody is talking about the wedding but nobody is talking about the planning of the wedding because it’s so difficult,” the ‘Livin’ La Vida Loca’ hit maker joked.
“I didn’t know it was so complicated to put together an event like the one we want.”
Martin broke the news of his engagement to Yosef on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in November 2016 after more than a year of dating.
The star had previously admitted the pair met via Instagram.
“We were talking for like six months without me hearing his voice,” he told Radio Andy host Andy Cohen.
“We talked about art – nothing sexy… I swear, nothing sexy. It was all about art and life in general.”
“He used to live in London, I went to London and I met him.”
