In the wake of last week’s announcement that Prince Philip is retiring, The Sunday Express reports that the news could impact the likelihood of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcoming a third royal baby.

This August, Prince William will leave his part-time role as a helicopter pilot for the East Anglican Air Ambulance in order to become full-time royal and support The Queen. The young royals will be moving from their current home of Norfolk into Kensington Palace.

Kate recently revealed that motherhood has at times left her feeling lonely.

‘It is lonely at times and you do feel quite isolated, but actually so many other mothers are going through exactly what you are going through,’ Duchess Kate explained, when speaking to the founders of Mush, an app that connects mothers in the hopes of forming support networks. ‘It is being brave enough, like you obviously were, to reach out to those around you.’

Despite their growing schedule, a brother of sister for George and Charlotte is still a possibility.

‘They want at least three kids and for them to be close in age,’ a well-placed friend told Vanity Fair last year before Prince Philip’s retirement.
