Reese Witherspoon may be worth an absolute fortune, but her sister has to strip in order to put food on the stable for her kids, according to sensational revelations published in the US today.
Marcie Sweet also has a string of drink driving convictions and told cops she had to drink so she could strip to feed her kids.
Documents reveal that in a 1999 incident close to her Florida home, cops saw Marcie’s car go “across all lanes of traffic… almost tipping the vehicle over.” She tried to speed away but when cops got to her they smelled a “strong odour of alcohol… on her breath.”
When Marcie – who is Reese’s step-sister – tried to explain herself, officers wrote in their report “she had gone to strip in order to earn money for her kids. She stated she had to get drunk in order to be able to dance.”
In another incident she was pulled over with a stun gun in her purse and a bottle containing 53 Zoloft pills.
She was handed a year’s probation and a suspended 60-day jail sentence.
Mother-of-three Reese has also had her own run in with the law.
She was arrested for DUI in Atlanta, Georgia in April 2013 and also charged with disorderly conduct.
Reese, currently starring in the HBO hit Big Little Lies alongside Nicole Kidman, plead no contest in court and was handed a US$213 fine.
