R Kelly ‘sex cult victim’ Joycelyn Savage has hit back at allegations she is being ‘brainwashed’ by the R’nB singer.
The 21-year-old spoke to TMZ to dispute claims that R. Kelly is holding her against her will.
‘I just mainly want to say that I am in a happy place,’ she said. ‘I’m not being brainwashed or anything like that.’
She says she has severed ties with her family members because their accusations against Kelly have ‘gotten out of hand’.
Earlier that day, her parents held a press conference pleading Kelly to ‘release’ Jocelyn.
‘It was as if she was brainwashed. [She] looked like a prisoner — it was horrible,’ her mother told Buzzfeed, who said she had not seen her daughter since December last year.
However, Jocelyn insists she’s in a ‘happy place’.
‘I’m totally fine. I’m happy where I’m at and everything is OK with me,’ she said in the video, adding: ‘I’ve never felt like a hostage or anything like that.’
Yesterday it was reported that R.Kelly was holding six women against their will in an abusive ‘cult,’ according to BuzzFeed.
The publication claimed the women live in various properties rented by the star, with the 50-year-old dictating what they can wear and eat, their sexual behaviour and all communication they have with the outside world.
In a statement to TMZ, a rep for Kelly slammed the explosive allegations, explaining the recording artist was “alarmed and disturbed by the recent revelations attributed to him.”
“Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such accusations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear is name,” the statement read.
