Queen Margrethe of Denmark has cleared the way for Princess Mary to succeed her by lavishing praise on her daughter-in-law.
Our Aussie royal icon looks certain to become Queen sooner rather than later after the monarch went into raptures about her in a new book.
Margrethe, 76, who has been on the throne for 44 years and is suffering from bad health, eulogised 44-year-old Mary, saying: ‘She’s brilliant.’
The Queen says of Mary’s charity work and social skills: ‘The way Mary has worked with her foundation and what she does for women in violent relationships, as well as anti-bullying, is remarkable.’
