He may have no shortage of female admirers, but Prince Harry appears to be a sucker for a damsel in distress – providing a shoulder to cry on for his pal Athina Onassis in the wake of her heartbreaking marriage split.
Athina was left devastated after a member of her security team discovered her husband of 10 years, Alvaro de Miranda Neto, known as ‘Doda’, in bed with a woman he knows from the professional show-jumping world.
Now the 31-year-old Greek shipping heiress is leaning on her dear friend Harry for support.
‘Harry has known Athina for years. She’s a regular in the international equestrian set and they have lots of mutual friends,’ royal confidante Jessica Hay tells New Idea.
