Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have married in a secret royal ceremony, breaking away from official palace protocol by exchanging vows near the Queen’s private Balmoral residence.
In a move that’s been described as the biggest royal secret in history, the couple exchanged vows in an intimate service at Crathie Kirk on July 29 in front of their immediate families.
‘This is for us,’ Meghan told Vanity Fair last week. ‘It’s part of what makes it so special, that it’s just ours. But we’re happy. Personally, I love a great love story.’
Honeymoon photos of the couple celebrating their secret wedding have now emerged, showing them frolicking in the sun for the first time as husband and wife in Botswana, Africa.
Meghan, 36, spoke openly about her love for Harry and their desire to keep their romance away from the world in her recent Vanity Fair article, the first time she’s opened up about her fairytale relationship with the 32-year-old prince.
‘We’re a couple. We’re in love. I’m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but what I hope that people will understand is that this is our time.’
