She’s hinted that she may be the first female to complete Australian Ninja Warrior’s gruelling obstacle course.
And now, uber-fit personal trainer Maggie-Laurie Spark has revealed that she’s still committed to training up to five times a week after the show – despite the fact she’s six months pregnant!
The 32-year-old – who is already mum to two-year-old Dallas – says she tackled the homemade Ninja course built by her husband, Steven, 36, for eight weeks in the lead up to the contest.
‘I’ve been training basically any time I don’t have morning sickness,’ she admitted.
‘I’ve been hanging from the monkey bars, doing squats, bench presses, pull-ups, push ups, lunges and head stands. I’m pretty sure bub number two is going to have ninja in its blood.’
Maggie also went rock-climbing, focused on building upper-body strength, and did both plyometrics (jump training) and functional training in the lead up to the popular extreme fitness show.
‘I work with a lot of mums, and I notice that I’ve experienced it, and I watched my mum struggle with the whole “mummy guilt”, feeling like after you’ve had your child, everything has to be about them,’ she told 9Honey.
‘Part of doing the show was that I could show mums and other parents that it’s OK to still do the things that inspire you and it actually makes you better as a parent.’
