Former Australian Idol star Paulini Curuenavuli could face up to seven years in prison after she was allegedly caught bribing a corrupt Government official.

According to reports, the singer enticed a NSW Roads and Maritime Services employee with $800 in exchange for a fake, unrestricted driver’s license, despite not being qualified to get behind the wheel.

It’s believed Curuenavuli – who is currently touring with The Bodyguard – forged official documents before transferring the funds into the staff member’s bank account.

The Daily Telegraph report that Faletausala Vaifale, 27, was already being investigated for distributing fake licenses to friends, family and associates of an outlaw motorcycle gang.

The singer is set to face court in Sydney next week, just two days after her commitments with the acclaimed stage production come to an end.

Curuenavuli’s lawyer, Michael Korn, has told the publication that his client is taking the charge very seriously.

“She’s aware of the gravity of the charges and she has instructed us as her legal representatives to treat the matter with the utmost seriousness,” he said.
